I waiver between not wanting to speak to anybody ever again sometimes, and wanting to tell my entire life story to anybody that will listen.
I usually try to be tactful, but I’ve discovered that sometimes blunt works better.
I’ve learned that sometimes omitting part of the truth is the best way to be honest without hurting someone.
I’ve finally learned that you can’t be everything to everyone, and you can’t please everyone… so don’t try. It’s nonsense.
I’ve learned that boundaries are healthy, and should be established, maintained, respected, and protected. That I need to know mine as well as enforce them. Nobody who doesn’t respect your boundaries (and is a grown adult that is not your offspring, lol) should be allowed easy access to or granted allowance anywhere near those boundaries again.
“When someone shows you who they are.. believe them” – Maya Angelou
I’ve learned that sometimes saying nothing says a lot more than any words you might utter. 😡
